We Need Your Help!

PFLAG Peachtree City is sponsoring a pick-up truck float in this year’s July 4th parade in Peachtree City!

We need marchers to walk behind our float and hand out candy to parade watchers.  Because we don’t have a trailer to transport people, you will need to walk the entire 2+-mile route which begins near Braelinn Golf Course on South Peachtree Parkway and ends at the Fred Brown amphitheater on Kelly Drive.

How You Can Help

Although the parade doesn’t begin until 9 AM, South Peachtree Parkway and Robinson Road will be closed to car traffic at 7:30 AM.  If you want to march, you will either need to have someone deliver you to our parade position (#51) before 9 AM (parade start time) and pick you up in the amphitheater parking lot or carpool with others.

We suggest driving two cars with marchers and parking one at Braelinn Elementary School or in the surrounding area by 7:30 AM and leaving the other parked at the Frederick Brown Junior Ampitheater so you will have a ride back to your car parked at Braelinn Elementary.

We cannot transport marchers from the parade end back to the beginning. We will supply bottled water for marchers and Port-o-Potties are provided near the parade start.

If you would like to donate individually wrapped, non-melting candy for us to give out, we will either arrange a place for drop-off or pick it up from you.  Snack packs of Skittles are especially desirable as they are rainbow-colored!

For Your Safety

Please do not bring very young children to march, as they may be overcome by heat.  For safety reasons, we cannot allow anyone under age 18 to march with us unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult sibling.

Since this is a family event, do not wear clothing with obscenities.  Patriotic or pride-themed clothing is welcome.
